Tinto de Verano

Bottle label and packaging design for the Spanish drink, Tinto de Verano. I spent four months living and interning in Málaga, Spain, and drank tinto de verano almost every single day. I wanted to bottle that same feeling I had while in Spain and introduce the drink to the United States with a summery and bright design. The design is inspired by a Flamenco fan and a lemon slice to hint at both Spanish culture and the flavor of the refreshing beverage. For the sake of the project, the hypothetical parent company of the drink is IZZE.

Citrus slices

Tinto de Verano is a combination of red wine and lemon soda. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to incorporate citrus or floral illustration elements to tie together both the flavor of the drink and the feeling of a beautiful summer day.

Spanish buildings

The lettering of the logo was inspired by the way that Spanish buildings look when seen on a hillside town. The stacking and geometry of the buildings and homes inspired the block lettered text.

Art Deco Travel Posters

I drew the color palette and style of illustration from Art Deco travel posters. I wanted this drink to be a way to bring Spain to whoever is enjoying the taste.

Carrier Design

I wanted there to be an interactive experience when opening the carrier, so it is designed with the same citrus motif in mind. Just like an orange or lemon wedge can open up into separated triangles, the carrier opens up to reveal small facts about the creation of Tinto de Verano in Spain.

Graphic elements were taken from the bottle label logo and incorporated throughout the city scape to continue the brand recognition from the label to the carrier. The same geometric shapes that were used to create the logo lettering were used for the buildings to create one continuous city scape on the outside of the carrier.
